90 days before the Investors 18th Birthday we will send an email notification to the Adviser associated to them.
We will explain what will happen on the 18th Birthday and request the Investors National Insurance Number (NINO) is added via the Adviser Portal if that has not already been given to us.
On the investors 18th Birthday, we will automatically:
- Convert the Junior ISA (JISA) to an ISA. The account number will not change.
- End any active Direct Debits into the Junior ISA. This will happen 5 days before the 18th Birthday to ensure no inflight payments occur.
- Remove nominated bank details
- Remove any Registered Contacts
We will send an email notification to the Adviser associated to the Investor on Day 1 and Day 30 after the 18th Birthday requesting the following information:
- National Insurance Number (NINO) if not previously provided.
- Nominated Bank details
- Additional information, such as occupation and annual income
- Agreement to our service and completion of the ISA declaration
A notification bar will also appear on the Investor Overview and Account Details where the missing information can be entered easily:

Thing to note
- If Regular Contributions are to continue a new direct debit will need to be set up via Add/Amend Contributions in the Portal.
- Due to regulatory rules, the ISA account will be restricted (preventing contributions and withdrawals) until this missing information is provided to us.
- Once we have the missing information then email notifications will stop, the notification bar will disappear, and account restrictions will be removed.
- If, after 45 days after the 18th Birthday we still haven’t received the missing information, we will reach out to the associated Adviser to urgently request the missing information. If this information cannot be provided, we may have to convert the ISA to a General Investment Account.
